Visiting Sydney Music Libraries

In February 2017 I was able to travel to Sydney.  While there I spent a day visiting IAML Australia colleagues at the University of Sydney Conservatorium Library (Marie Chellos and Ludwig Sugiri) and the Australian Institute of Music (Anna Shelmerdine – IAML Australia President).

It was good to get out and about to visit these music libraries and learn of the services and resources that they provide to their tertiary music students. We were able to discuss all types of issues effecting our workplaces including services, resources, APA 6th referencing guides, copyright, engagement activities and more. However the best part was being able to talk face to face with my IAML Australia colleagues and develop and strengthen our professional relationship. Thanks Marie, Ludwig and Anna for your hospitality.

I encourage all IAML Australia members to share your stories and experiences meeting up with colleagues or visiting libraries, so we can all benefit.  Please let me know if you are ever in Brisbane.

Cheers
