Intermezzo – IAML Australia newsletter online

Intermezzo

From 1993 – 2008 IAML Australia produced the regular print newsletter Intermezzo. It invited contributions from all members and is full of stories and endeavours of its members including editorials, letters to editors, conference reports, humoresques, staff movements and more. Intermezzo has lots of fascinating history of the Association and the evolution of music libraries in Australia.

Now for the first time the full run of 65 issues of Intermezzo have now be digitised and made available online at:

http://www.iamlaustralia.org.au/publications

Also now available online for the first time are several IAML Australia Union Catalogues prepared by Mary O’Mara and Gordon Abbott including:

  • Union catalogue of orchestral scores and performing parts in Australian music libraries and collections (2nd ed, 1998) – Editor Mary O’Mara
  • Union catalogue of music serials held in Australian libraries (1992) – Editor Mary O’Mara
  • Union catalogue of historical sets, collected editions and monuments of music in Australia libraries (1983) – Editors Gordon Abbott and Mary O’Mara

Still to come:

The digitisation of IAML Australia’s main journal Continuo is currently in progress, so watch out for forth coming announcements.

What gets preserved gets remembered:

The digitised publications will also eventually be uploaded to the National Library of Australia eDeposit collection for long term preservation in Trove.

Technical:

The digitised publications are hosted on the IAML Australia web server using the Omeka platform. Any questions or issues with the digitisations please let me know.
